Birla Mandir
Located in Tilak Nagar below the Moti Dungri Fort, this beautiful Hindu temple was built with white marble in 1988 by B.M. Birla Foundation. This modern marble marvel is built on a raised platform.

History
Jaipur was founded in 1727 by Maharaj Jai Singh II. It was the first planned city in northern India. In 1876, Prince of Wales and Queen Victoria visited India. Since pink is color of hospitality, Maharaja Ram Singh of Jaipur painted the whole city pink in order to welcome the guests. Hence the name "Pink City".
