Hyderabad is the capital of Telangana, a state in India. It is also the largest city in Telangana. More than 7.75 million people live in Hyderabad, which covers an area of around 650 square kilometers. It is located on a hilly terrain and has a tropical wet and dry climate.

Birla Mandir

This Hindu temple is located on a hillock. It is dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara. Around 2000 tons of white marble were brought from Rajasthan for building this temple. The structure is a blend of Dravidian, Rajasthani and Utkala architectures.

Birla Mandir History

This beautiful temple was built by Birla Foundation. It was inaugurated by Swami Ranganathananda of Ramakrishna Mission in 1976. It took 10 years to build this temple.

Ramoji Film City

Ramoji Film City is the largest integrated film city (2000 acres) in the world. It is certified by the Guinness World Records as the world’s largest filmstudio complex. Around 1.5 million people visit Ramoji Film City every year.
The complex’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and incomparable professional expertise have already been feted by many international filmmakers.

Golkonda Fort

Located 11 kilometers west of Hyderabad, this magnificent citadel and fort was the capital of the medieval sultanate of the Qutb Shahi dynasty. This fortress complex is listed as an archaeological treasure on the official "List of Monuments" prepared by the Archaeological Survey of India. It has eight gates and 87 bastions. The outer fort occupies an area of around square kilometers. It is one of Hyderabad’s architectural wonders.

Secrets of Golconda Fort

It is believed that there is a secret underground tunnel in Golconda Fort, which leads from the 'Durbar Hall' to one of the palaces at the foot of the hill.

Chilkoor Balaji Temple

Popularly known as Visa Balaji Temple, this ancient Hindu temple is located on the banks of Osman Sagar in Hyderabad. Set in sylvan surroundings, this holy temple attracts thousands of pilgrims every year.

Hussain Sagar

Hussain Sagar, a heart shaped lake, covers an area of around 5.7 square kilometers. It is fed by River Musi. It is the largest artificial lake in Asia. There is a 16-meter-tall granite monolith of Lord Buddha on an island in the lake. Boat ride, children's park, statues and cultural activities are among various activities here.

Salar Jung Museum

Salar Jung Museum was inaugurated in 1951 by Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of India. Located in Darulshifa, near the Hyderabad High Court, this famous art museum is one of the three National Museums of India.
The museum is a repository of the artistic achievements of diverse European, Asian and Far Eastern countries of the world. It is a testament of Nawab Mir Yousuf Khan's passion for arts and antiques.
Nawab Mir Yousuf Khan was popularly known as Salar Jung III; the museum is named after him. He was the former Prime Minister of the 7th Nizam of Hyderabad
The museum has 38 galleries with three sections: the central block, the eastern block and the western block. Around 43,000 art objects, 47,000 books and 9,000 manuscripts from different parts of the world are displayed in the museum.
Visit to this museum was an enriching and entertaining experience for me. I was fascinated by musical clock, Aurangzeb's sword, Veiled Rebecca, daggers of Shah Jahan and Jehangir, and a wardrobe of Tipu Sultan in this superb museum.

The museum, which is royal treat for art lovers, is open between 10.00 am and 5.00 pm on all days of the week except Friday.

Charminar

Built in 1591 by Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah, this monument and mosque is a global icon of Hyderabad. Located on the east bank of River Musi, this popular landmark is an excellent example of Islamic architecture.
Charminar means four minarets. This 48.7-meter-high structure was constructed using granite and lime mortar. It is open on all days between 9.30 am and 5.30 pm. You can easily reach this place by bus, cab or auto rickshaw.

Ashtalakshmi Temple

Consecrated in April 1996, this Lakshmi temple is located in Vasavi Colony. Inside this temple you will find idols of Adilakshmi, Aishwaryalakshmi, Santanalakshmi, Dhanalakshmi, Dhanyalakshmi, Gajalakshmi, Vijayalakshmi and Varalakshmi.
