Golkonda Fort
Located 11 kilometers west of Hyderabad, this magnificent citadel and fort was the capital of the medieval sultanate of the Qutb Shahi dynasty. This fortress complex is listed as an archaeological treasure on the official "List of Monuments" prepared by the Archaeological Survey of India. It has eight gates and 87 bastions. The outer fort occupies an area of around square kilometers. It is one of Hyderabad’s architectural wonders.

Hussain Sagar
Hussain Sagar, a heart shaped lake, covers an area of around 5.7 square kilometers. It is fed by River Musi. It is the largest artificial lake in Asia. There is a 16-meter-tall granite monolith of Lord Buddha on an island in the lake. Boat ride, children's park, statues and cultural activities are among various activities here.
Salar Jung Museum
Salar Jung Museum was inaugurated in 1951 by Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of India. Located in Darulshifa, near the Hyderabad High Court, this famous art museum is one of the three National Museums of India.
The museum is a repository of the artistic achievements of diverse European, Asian and Far Eastern countries of the world. It is a testament of Nawab Mir Yousuf Khan's passion for arts and antiques.

The museum has 38 galleries with three sections: the central block, the eastern block and the western block. Around 43,000 art objects, 47,000 books and 9,000 manuscripts from different parts of the world are displayed in the museum.
Visit to this museum was an enriching and entertaining experience for me. I was fascinated by musical clock, Aurangzeb's sword, Veiled Rebecca, daggers of Shah Jahan and Jehangir, and a wardrobe of Tipu Sultan in this superb museum.

Charminar
Built in 1591 by Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah, this monument and mosque is a global icon of Hyderabad. Located on the east bank of River Musi, this popular landmark is an excellent example of Islamic architecture.
Charminar means four minarets. This 48.7-meter-high structure was constructed using granite and lime mortar. It is open on all days between 9.30 am and 5.30 pm. You can easily reach this place by bus, cab or auto rickshaw.
