Marina Beach

This natural urban beach is the longest beach in India (12 kilometers) and the second longest beach in the world.
Located in Kamarajar Salai Road, this popular beach is the most crowded beach (around 10,000 visitors daily) in India.

Since the creation of a promenade in the year 1884, there were several additions to this beach.
India's first aquarium was established here in 1909. Shortly after the nation gained independence in 1947, the Triumph of Labour statue and the Gandhi statue in 'march to Dandi' stride were erected on the beach.

Madras Crocodile Bank Trust

Located around 40 kilometers from Chennai, this reptile zoo and herpetology research station promotes the conservation of reptiles and amphibians and their habitats through education, scientific research and captive breeding. It covers around eight and a half acres.

Arignar Anna Zoological Park
