If you are assaulted or harassed in public, scream, create a scene, especially if you are a woman. People in Mumbai are very helpful. It is better to use dial-a-cab service rather than the regular black-and-yellow cabs.
Avoid flaunting your richness. Avoid arguments with strangers, especially on sensitive topics like language, culture and religion. Do not reveal too much information about yourself, your travel plans, etc to any third person like hotel receptionist, room service and cab driver.
